Dear Educational Technology Faculty,
I received a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Texas Pan American in the spring of 2006. I then moved to England to work as the assistant to the IT Director at Newbold College for one year. When I come back to US, I enrolled the Engineering Management master’s program at the University of Texas Pan American and graduated in summer 2009. After my graduation, I was offered a job at Progreso High School. It was in the summer of 2011 when my administrators invited me to apply for the MSTTPA program at UTB, and I need to thank you for selecting me as one of the participants. I have now three years of teaching experience and a lot of Educational Technology knowledge that I can share with my coworkers.
Although I was overwhelmed with the amount of work, I learned a lot in the two classes that I took in fall 2011. I was introduced to Instructional Technology where I was expected to use programs I already knew, such as PowerPoint and Word and also PBWorks, which I had never heard before. Educational Technologies had a lot of impact on me because I was introduced to a lot of Web 2.0 technologies that I had no idea they existed. Some of my favorite Web 2.0 tools are: Prezi, Glogster, Wordle and Slide Rocket. Each and every one of the classes I took provided me with an understanding of educational technology, information, and tools that I am excited to introduce to my students.
As this program is about to end, I would like to thank all the instructors for being such a professional and enthusiastic faculty. I am so grateful for this opportunity that has helped me to become a better person and to grow as an educator.
Sincerely,
Cristina Pintor
